What Remain, 2025
100 x 100 cm
In What Remains, fragments of colour, layered textures and expressive marks come together to create a landscape of memory and traces. Set against a predominantly muted palette of whites and soft greys, scattered blocks of red, blue, green and yellow emerge from the surface, evoking remnants of lived experience within a constantly changing world.
Through the interplay of abstraction, erasure and materiality, the work explores the delicate relationship between presence and absence, inviting reflection on what endures after time, conflict and transformation. Each mark seems to hold a fragment of something once present, now partially obscured yet never entirely lost.
Balancing a sense of fragmentation with moments of colour and visual intensity, What Remains becomes a meditation on memory, resilience and the traces we carry forward, suggesting that even as circumstances change, something of what once was continues to remain.
