Description
Mixed Media on Canvas, Lincoln Mwangi (Kenyan, born 1996)
Space, Movement and Rest I (diptych), 2025
57.5 x 57.5 cm
Medium: Mix Media on Canvas
Act Notes: Expansion
Perspective begins expanding outward.
Rest becomes a space of reflection, gathering, and transformation.
Between shadow and reflection, the self moves outward into the world before returning inward altered.
Scene I – Reflection – Notes
The gaze shifts from the ground toward the sky.
The tree rests at the centre like an internal home suspended within moonlight.
Water reflects what cannot be held directly.
Reflection overtakes action as balance emerges through stillness.
The lantern illuminates quietly where creativity begins to surface.
Scene II – Participation – Notes
Rings expand outward through earth, water, sand, and sky.
The landscape opens like a fish-eye lens.
The self moves beyond its own boundaries toward collective experience and gathering.
Reflection emerges through stillness.
Shadow emerges through participation.
Rest gathers what movement disperses.
