Miradas

We are pleased to invite you to the launch of the Online Art Gallery GravitArt with the opening of the collective exhibition “Miradas”

GravitArt Gallery invites you to look through our artists glasses during the Gallery opening night. Please join us for a special welcome cocktail. Thanks to the generosity of Bodegas Riojanas and Algar Aguilar, you will be able to taste a fine Spanish wine, while experiencing the amazing art work setting that Héctor has created. Thanks to this eatable installation, Héctor will guide us throughout the art exhibition.

The artists view (“m i r a d a s”) on reality cannot be matched. Their senses and consciousness capture the hidden reality from their environment. Any artist specific view lacks pragmatic simplification while discovering by watching, instead of seeing.

An artist will therefore perceive mystery, harmony, hidden reality, through different lenses, because they know how to love what they see. They capture their subject uniqueness without linking it to a functional set of facts. They focus on the essence beyond primarily function or benefit. Instead they care on the depth, original and pure conceptual meaning.

I see Eltayeb observing and I can perceive such a wise view. He looks like striving to capture the purest, the essence, beyond appearance. Like an archeologist he discovers layers of history. Scratching the wood, he brings back to life those “Spirit of faces” wrapped in the past. These works provide a reverse reflection when surrounding people inspire his action and therefore enlighten these beings. On the top of this view, we can appreciate his depth and mastership of several years working on materials and colors.

We come across Rashid, with his cool and calm view after 35 years of work and serene look. His colors are now less transparent, more flat. His work is solidly pictured after a synthetic minimal transition. The composure of his current pieces is carefully conceived.

Now the stage darkens with grotesque beings and sharpened faces. We watch through Shabu Mwangi eyes. This is a crude view, sinking and diving on amazing abyss. This is now a mysterious enigma wrapping atmosphere that floats on the canvas.

A generation view, Kaloki Nyamai, discovers a genetic pattern that goes down in history until today after conversations with his grandmother. These “Familiar Spaces” portray the way people make their political, economic and social decisions. Dickson visionary eyes perceived this pattern and he makes us conscious of it through his work.

An artist like Halfawi grew in a melting pot with traces of Arabic calligraphy, Nubian civilization and clay building painting workshops. Therefore a colorful background and decorative style glues to the surface, full of cryptic calligraphy and remnants of ancient civilizations. However Halfawi focuses on the human being who melts and always fades into this rich canvas.

The touch a dream. The Elungat´s magical realism takes the start from the flowing dreams in which he is carried on the back of a bird and flies over landscapes, watching from above. These visions inspire his paintings… paintings that are born from the heart of a dreamer instead of his intellect.

The watercolours master and painting view through his smile. Abushariaa work evolved along with his view of the world. He used to show harsh reality, corruption and nihilism but he turned on sharing happiness or silence. Now his work and presence shades light, color contrast, harmony love and cheer.

A new point of view on our usual experience is materialized through the work of Dennis Muraguri. “Ready make” is used as a strategy on the materials, turning around their functionality into aesthetic pleasure. Dennis finds beauty through a gear process. Maybe for him this is just a coincidence… a coincidence that leads to the piece of art.

The eye of the intuition, a resistance to everything, even to be defined… Kyalo´s work in a non-representational format, portrayed through layers of paint, visual information, insistence of abstraction, colour and textures.

Mystical, translucent and seductive view. The art of Paul Onditi are mesmerizing and intriguing, with an impressionistic vision and futuristic imagination. One way or the other, you will always find Smokey somewhere in a little corner, surrounded by the reflection of what Paul see and hear.

Some views follow a paradigm but are driven from insight. Fitsum´s work cannot be summarized by words, it is not conceptual, but a confident, emotional and colorful strike on the canvas. His portraits show a true search and visual harmony that capture the essence through the semblance. His work maturity is the result of actual mastership of view.
