BODY AND EMBODIMENT
In this serie of works, Tesfaye explores different kinds of forms in nature related to human body and ideas of embodiments related to his personal experience especially the relationship of his body and an external physical resonances. He explores between the biological and physical space to search and experiment art out of what this physical human body and his engagements made up of different kinds of challenges since his childhood. Bekele’s works are intimately linked to his personal experience with his own body and movement. Body and embodiment are the main elements and the starting points in his work because of what these characters and images evoke in his inner most self. The most important point for him, he says, is creating connections with and starting a conversation with the physical space and expressing it into an art form. Playing with these two main elements gives him freedom to travel back and forth in time and create a new kinds of visions from his memory of childhood and journey to the future.
