Description
Mixed Media on Canvas, Lincoln Mwangi (Kenyan, born 1996)
Conviction II (triptych), 2025
60 x 80 cm
Medium: Mix Media on Canvas
Act Notes: The Weight of Belief
The stage remains grounded.
Choice still appears tangible.
Between instinct and transcendence, the figures negotiate belief, morality, and direction before the conflict turns inward.
Scene Notes
Scene I — Conviction I
All paths remain open.
The stage has not yet chosen direction.
The grounded self and the spiritual witness coexist in tension, suspended between instinct and transcendence.
Scene II — Conviction II
Belief begins replacing certainty.
The grounding force disappears.
What remains is projection, ritual, superstition, and invisible systems of meaning.
Scene III — Conviction III
The conflict turns inward.
Choice becomes psychological rather than external.
The stage no longer represents the world, but consciousness itself.
